China Dispatch - Final day in Guilin and some random pics

Our final day in Guilin was a day of site seeing before we got on an early evening flight to head to Chengdu.

We started the day by taking a reed boat up the Li river to see a rock.
The rock is actually called Elephant Hill because it supposedly looks like an elephant. I'll let you judge for yourself: After the boat ride we headed to Yao Mountain where we took a cable car up to the summit to see breathtaking views: It was beautiful up there mostly because there were no other tourists. The haze made it a bit difficult to enjoy the views, but what we could see was gorgeous: We found some strange fruit up there: We then headed to the Reed Flute caves that were awesome:
We ended the day at a scenic area where there was a pagoda:
And a bridge: And the oldest Banyan tree ever, or something. It was a tree of some significance, but I can't remember what it was exactly. It was huge and cool looking nonetheless: There was also this old guy who kept making Jay pose with this woman:
He then tried to get Jay to pay him for his service, while Jay negotiated the price, a crowd had assembled: The old man didn't like what Jay was offering so he tried to barter for his shoes: It was when the old man tried to take his camera that Jay finally had enough: So we made our way to the airport. Along the way we caught a rainbow which was a very appropriate send off from the beautiful city of Guilin:
And now for some randomness........

A pretty pagoda: Pretty city gates:

Some beautiful landscape:
Some cool statues: Deana on a pig: Chinese Graffiti: A very strange window display: The next installment will be in Chengdu where there are pandas and giant Buddahs and hotpots, Oh My!
